No, not really. The stairs themselves can be kept clean, but the rough texture of the treads holds on to a lot of stuff. I don't mind, because they go down to our basement. I like them. They were just what I needed, and I would buy them again.
I got mine awhile ago but I believe they came with some brief instructions. Telling you to make sure Area I’d clean and dry and what they stick best too. We use ours for our pool deck steps and they are great

You can stick these to any surface as long as its not too porus or has lot of dimples where it would be difficult to stick the tape. You can see in reviews where a customer has used it for their dog steps.
I haven’t tried it on aluminum but it worked on painted steel. These are very sticky so I think it should work for you on aluminum.

They come up easy if need replaced. We have them on wood stairs and on garage floor. May leave some sticky residue but we just put another one down.

Yes, these will work fine on concrete outdoor steps. Please ensure that you first clean steps and make sure its free of any oil / dust etc.
It will cover it, but if the screw is protruding you'll want to screw it down so it is at least flush with the step. Otherwise the act of stepping down on the step will cause a hole to develop on the tread application. It could also cause someone to trip.
It stuck very well to vinyl planks. I would like it would stick to wood too.

My 8 year old rescue dog had surgery of the ACL on his back leg. During his recovery, I had to be very careful about him going up and down the steps. I used a sling to help him not put weight on his back leg and these stair treads made certain he did not slip going from the back porch out into the backyard and then going back up the steps again. They were soooo easy to apply and have been on the 5 back steps for almost a year through all kinds of weather. They are doing very well!!
My dog has become blind and I needed something for my rough cement steps so he can feel when he needs to "step up" onto each step, and also as a mark to let him know he is approaching the end of the step as he steps down. These are Great and stick very well. I only had one out of four that came loose. I have a roller that is small and solid that I use for art and I will say that if you have a rough cement or even a smooth surface, applying pressure back and forth really helps secure the strips. Mine have survived torrents of rain, hot sun, and winds. I don't know yet about shoveling snow. I just ordered another box for other areas and I'm so pleased with this product.
Certainly make sure you clean the surface really well. We adhered ours to wooden steps then stood on them about 2 minutes. They stuck to the wood very well. We live in Mississippi, so we get a good amount of rain, and they have, so far, not peeled off or started slipping when stepped on. In the winter we don't really get snow so can't really test them about that, but for rain they seem to stay put.
